X-Files Under the Stars 2026 Celebrates Millennium

The X-Files Under the Stars 2026

The X-Files Preservation Collection has announced X-Files Under the Stars 2026! This summer’s event will take place on Saturday, August 15th, and present fans with a Darin Morgan double feature, two darkly comic television classics, marking the first-ever inclusion of Millennium in this annual tradition.

The outdoor screening begins with The X-Files episode "Humbug," hosted by its most memorable guest star, the Enigma. Then, author Brian A. Dixon will present the Millennium fan favorite "Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me" and lead a live Q&A with the audience.

Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to explore the X-Files Preservation Collection's renowned exhibition of props and memorabilia, the most comprehensive collection of X-Files artifacts in the world. The Enigma will be available for autographs and photo opportunities, and Dixon will be present to discuss Millennium and the art of detective fiction in addition to signing copies of Back to Frank Black (2012). As the sun sets, attendees will settle in for the full-episode screenings followed by live Q&A sessions with the guest hosts.

The X-Files Preservation Collection is the world's only museum dedicated to The X-Files television series. Located in Saratoga Springs, New York, the collection features authentic props, costumes, scripts, and memorabilia from the show's 25-year history. Since its opening in 2021, the X-Files Preservation Collection has served as the premier destination for fans seeking to explore the production and impact of one of television's most influential series.

Brian A. Dixon is a mystery author, cultural studies scholar, and media critic. He served as both writer and editor on Back to Frank Black: A Return to Chris Carter’s Millennium (2012), the critically acclaimed retrospective of the groundbreaking drama series published by Fourth Horseman Press. The book features essays exploring the show's dark themes, psychological depth, and enduring legacy as well as original interviews with cast and crew.
